Accessibility statement

Last updated: June 23, 2025

resmio aims to provide an accessible experience for its standalone web applications (“Widget”) for reservations, orders and the sale of tickets / vouchers in compliance with the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (“BFSG”) and the European Accessibility Act (“EAA”).

  • This accessibility statement only applies to the above-mentioned resmio widgets. It is because resmio provides services for B2C companies (in this case: restaurants and gastronomic businesses), which, insofar as they explicitly do not fall under the “Kleinstunternehmen” regulation to Section 2 No. 17 BFSG, in turn require accessible solutions for their customers (“consumers”).
  • Our website https://www.resmio.com is primarily a B2B offer for entrepreneurs within the meaning of Section 2 No. 16 BFSG, which is explicitly not aimed at consumers in accordance with Section 13 BGB. Consequently, the declaration on accessibility does not apply here. However, where it is economically feasible, we will gradually seek to meet the accessibility requirements.

Not accessible content

For organizational and economic reasons, our efforts to create an accessible design are preferably focused on resmio’s core service, namely providing our reservation widgets. Additional optional widgets for the digital menu, voucher purchase, ticket shop and guest feedback as well as the mini website will be adapted to the requirements as soon as possible.

We are also aware of the following inconsistencies with accessibility regulations:

Color contrasts: restaurateurs are free to adjust the widgets to the brand colors of the restaurant or the website. Depending on the selected accent and background color, the contrast ratio between foreground and background may be unfavorable and the test may fail according to WCAG-AA criteria. Please contact the respective restaurant if you would like to make specific adjustments to the color contrast in terms of accessibility.

Alt texts: Alternative text descriptions are currently not fully available for any images that may be included in widgets (e.g. in offers, photos in digital menus), meaning that this information is inaccessible for screen reader users. We are planning to add the function for integrating alt texts in this respect.

PDF content: It is possible for restaurateurs to link from the widget to content in PDF format (e.g. cancellation policies, menus, etc.). We cannot centrally guarantee compliance with accessibility standards for third-party content such as this. For alternative access to the linked information, please contact the respective restaurant.

Calendar: Selecting a specific reservation date using the keyboard can be a little inconvenient. Moreover, screen readers will read out all available dates one after the other. The option of being able to directly type in a desired date in a format like DD/MM/YYYY is planned and will be added at a later date.

If you, as an affected person, have any further information about any inadequacies, please feel free to give us feedback.

Creation of this accessibility statement

This declaration was created on June 23, 2025 and is updated on a regular basis.

The compatibility of the widgets with the BFSG was assessed in the form of a self-test based on live reviews, software tools and browser plug-ins in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at conformance level A + AA. The following were checked in the online reservation widget: start screen of the online form with date mask, the subsequent reservation details screen and the checkout screen for entering the contact details for the reservation request.

Future enhancements to the design and function of our widgets will be checked to ensure that they meet the requirements of the BFSG and EAA.
